A single gem that bundles Claricle's image utilities — validate, convert, and inspect PNG, SVG, EMF, EPS and friends from one command line. Currently a shim reserving the gem name; full functionality lands as the underlying libraries mature.

Reads Microsoft Enhanced Metafile (EMF) records and emits clean SVG, and round-trips back. The foundation of vector conversion for any publication pipeline that receives diagrams from Windows applications.

Validates SVG against the W3C specification and repairs the common deviations produced by drawing tools. Use it as a gate in any pipeline that ingests third-party SVG.

Conversion

Bidirectional PS / EPS to SVG, in pure Ruby.

Bidirectional PostScript and Encapsulated PostScript transformer: PS ↔ SVG and SVG → EPS. Uses Nokogiri for the SVG side and a hand-written comment-aware lexer and stack-machine interpreter for the PS source side. No Ghostscript, no Inkscape — the entire pipeline runs in Ruby.

Pure-Ruby parser for WMF, EMF, and EMF+ metafiles.

Clean-room, pure-Ruby parser for the three Microsoft Windows metafile formats — WMF (Windows Metafile), EMF (Enhanced Metafile), and EMF+ (Enhanced Metafile Plus). Reads binary input into an OOP domain model and serializes the model back to binary. The parsing half of emfsvg.

Parses Adobe PostScript (PS) and Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) source into a typed AST, manipulates it as a first-class domain model, and serializes it back to source. The lower layer of postsvg; independently reusable for any tool that needs to read, write, or transform PostScript.

Pure-Ruby PDF reader, model, and serializer.

Byte-level PDF reader, Arlington-model-driven typed domain model, and serializer. The PDF object model is sourced directly from vendored Arlington PDF Model TSVs (the machine-readable definition of ISO 32000-2:2020), so field metadata, version predicates, and validators stay aligned with the spec by data, not by hand-coded mimicry.
