1. Painting

Commands for rendering paths and graphics to the page. Painting operations take paths and graphics state parameters to produce visible output.

2. Overview

PostScript provides three primary painting operations:

• Fill - Paint inside of path

• Stroke - Paint along path

• Clip - Restrict subsequent painting to path interior

3. Command Categories

3.1. Fill Operations

Command	Description
fill	Fill path interior (non-zero winding rule)
eofill	Fill path interior (even-odd rule)
ufill	Fill user path (Level 2)
ueofill	Even-odd fill user path (Level 2)
rectfill	Fill rectangles (Level 2)
shfill	Paint a smooth shading within the current clipping path (Level 3)

3.2. Stroke Operations

Command	Description
stroke	Paint along path
strokepath	Convert stroke to outline path
ustroke	Stroke user path (Level 2)
ustrokepath	Convert user path stroke to outline (Level 2)
rectstroke	Stroke rectangles (Level 2)

3.3. Clipping Operations

Command	Description
clip	Intersect clipping path (non-zero winding)
eoclip	Intersect clipping path (even-odd rule)
clippath	Set current path to clipping path
rectclip	Clip to rectangles (Level 2)
